Family Harbor — Data Handling and Vendors
Last updated: 9/9/2025
This page explains how Family Harbor handles your information and which trusted vendors we rely on to deliver our service. It complements Privacy Basics, which covers what we collect and how you can control it.
Why we’re sharing this
Estate and legacy planning requires trust. That means being clear not only about what data we collect, but also about where it goes, who processes it, and how we safeguard it. This page is written for both families and professionals so you can see how the system works behind the scenes.
How data flows
- You provide information through forms, uploads, or checklists
- We store that information securely in our core systems (databases, file storage)
- We may process it using connected tools that help us run the service
- You choose whether to share information with delegates or professionals. When you do, they access only what you authorize
- We retain information only while your account is active or as required for legal and security purposes (see Privacy Basics)
Data categories and handling
- Contact details (name, email, phone) are stored in our account system and used to communicate with you
- Planning responses and uploads are encrypted in transit and at rest, accessible only to you and those you share with
- Support requests may pass through our help desk or email provider
- Analytics are limited and anonymized where possible, used only to understand usage and improve the service
